Lindsey Dezman

Dezman fills the gallery with abstracted forms utilizing materials often considered to be detritus, like ceramic shards, dust and dryer lint. Dezman uses these objects as well as clay to illustrate and document rhythms of time—the way things age and how they either disintegrate or don’t. In addition Dezman’s practice focuses on using clay in alternative ways, showcasing its nuances and pushing its material capabilities to transform and redefine its perception.

Dezman received her Master of Fine Arts from Cranbrook Academy of Art (Bloomfield Hills, MI) and her Bachelor of Fine Arts from Colorado State University (Fort Collins, CO). Her work has been exhibited and is included in the public collections of New Mexico State University (Las Cruces, NM), Icheon World Ceramic Center (Icheon City, South Korea) and Guldagergaard, International Ceramic Research Center (Skælskør, Denmark). Dezman currently lives and practices in Royal Oaks, MI.
