Become an Intern
ROY G BIV is looking for INTERNS! We are seeking creative, motivated, curious individuals to intern at the gallery for the autumn/winter season running September-December 2024.
The ideal candidate will have an interest in non-profit organizations, a commitment to the arts and must be aligned with Roy’s mission. Internships are unpaid. Interns will work closely with the gallery director, gallery assistant, and each other to enhance Roy’s service to emerging artists.
We are looking for candidates interested in one or more of the following categories…
Social Media & Communications Outreach
Instagram (including coordinating artist ‘takeovers’)
Facebook
Outward facing communications (emails, announcements, CFE’s, etc)
Research social media best practices and maintain industry standards
Arts Administration & Grant Management
Learn grant writing and application procedures
Manage grant and application opportunities and deadlines
Membership management
Fundraising
Research
Publication: Image & Text
Photography
Zine
Blog
Collaborate with Artist in Residence for publications, interviews etc
Enhance your writing skills
Curatorial & Programming
Work with Exec Gallery Director to curate CFE’s, Image OH, special programming, and smallworks
Learn the ins-outs of exhibition work
Learn installation and preparator work
Develop skills working with professional artists
Develop other programming such as artist talks, studio visits and more
*Responsibilities include but are not limited to the above lists, interns will work in tandem with and in collaboration with each other in the listed descriptions. These categories are not exclusive, interns may have duties outside of their chosen category.
