Warnick appropriates art projects to make viewers aware of the systems they operate within. Made from common materials like plywood, newsprint, and drywall, Warnick’s work examines the effects of deregulation and privatization in the United States since the 1980s. For-profit corporations like Corrections Corporation of America and DynCorp have invaded once exclusive territories of the public sector, including prisons an military defense. To tackle these issues, Warnick has taken artistic projects from the last 50 years of art history and reconfigured them, calling attention to the collaborative nature of culture.

Anthony Warnick (b. 1983, Washington, D.C.) lives and works in Cleveland, OH. Warnick holds a MFA in Sculpture from the Cranbrook Academy of Art and a BFA from Minneapolis College of Art and Design in Web + Multimedia Environments. He is co-director for the alternative art space The Muted Horn, which focuses on bringing national and international artists to Cleveland, OH.
