Jennifer Hansen Gard

Gard will present her performance series The Relational Table in which she will convert the gallery into a gathering site of shared meals to take place every evening. At the opening, Gard will prepare and share a meal with one guest, using Gard’s hand-made ceramic vessels. Each subsequent night from 5-7 PM, the guest will become the host and will share a meal with a new guest. The project examines art’s role as a vehicle for interaction and the gallery’s role as a central place of gathering.

Jeni studied art education from 2003-2007 and earned a Bachelor of Arts in Art Education with an emphasis in ceramics at Hope College, in Holland, Michigan. In 2012, Jeni graduated from the University of Florida with a Master of Arts in Art Education with an emphasis in ceramics. She is currently a candidate in the Master of Fine Arts Ceramics program at Ohio State University.
